How do I register as an agent?
You will go to the home page of the www.LAIVS.org website and click on Registration. On the registration page you will need to enter your producer license number (assigned by LDI) and your birthdate. You will then follow the prompts to set up your agent account.

How do I change my web account password?
Login to the www.LAIVS.org website using your username and password, Select 'Account Information' at left hand side of the page, Check the 'Do you want to update your password?' check box and follow the steps. If you have previously submitted a secret question and answer, then the answer will be needed to modify the password.

What if I don’t know my producer license number?
You can search for the producer license number in the Louisiana Department of Insurance website or contact LDI.
Q.
I’m an Agent. What is my user name?
The user name will be the producer license number issued by the LDI that was used to register the account. The user name cannot be changed.
Q.
How can we correct/change the contact information for my account?
Log in to the www.LAIVS.org website, click on Account Information, and change the contact information.
Q.
I have forgotten my password. How do I reset it?
You can reset your password by selecting the Forgot Password link located on the log in screen of the LAIVS website. After selecting this link you must provide the answer to the secret question. A temporary password will be sent to your email.

What if a vehicle owner received an LA OMV insurance cancellation notice and has insurance?
If the vehicle owner has insurance, they will need to contact their insurance company or agent. The insurance company or agent will then need to electronically transmit the insurance information using the LAIVS website. The insurance company/agent will need the reference number included in the notice or vehicle VIN in order to submit the insurance information.

What if a vehicle owner received an LA OMV insurance cancellation notice and the vehicle is inoperable, sold, totaled, repossessed, or registered out of state?
This information can not be submitted using the LAIVS website. The vehicle owner should follow the instructions provided on the notice.
Q.
What happens if the vehicle owner does not respond to the LA OMV insurance cancellation notice?
The vehicle registration will be revoked and cannot be renewed, and the customer's driver’s license blocked against renewal or reissuance ten (10) days from the date of the notice.
Q.
Where can the customer pay the reinstatement fee.
Customer can pay the fee online at www.fixmyflags.com or through the LA Wallet app. Other payment options are also provided on the notice.
Q.
The insurance company/agent submitted insurance for the vehicle. However, the registration is still suspended.
To clear the suspension:
- The customer has to pay the reinstatement fee
OR
- Insurance that began before the cancellation date printed on the notice has to be submitted by an insurance company or agent.
